The Morrison Hannah Chair has an easygoing, friendly aesthetic that complements many contract, hospitality, and residential settings. It's a light task chair perfect for communal areas, touch-down meetings and co-working spaces.
The buttons are not only structural – they hold the cushions onto the frame – they are precisely placed to suit the human body. On the back, the buttons add shape and give the cushion fullness for lumbar support. The seat buttons create comfortable divots for the ischial bones (“sitz bones”) In 2024, the back pitch was optimised to provide more lumbar support, and two different foam densities were added – one in the seat and another in the back – to provide support and comfort where needed. The frame is made from aluminium.
Morrison Hannah’s frame is available in five finish colours as well as a demi-polished finish. This has a quieter appearance than a highly reflective, fully-polished finish. It allows the unique characteristics of aluminium to be more visible and will patina with use. The upholstery is available in an array of colours across a choice of fabrics and leathers.

Knoll introduced the Morrison Hannah chair as “Easy to manufacture, easy to reupholster, easy to live with, and easy to love” – a friendly approach to light task seating that’s still welcome in today’s hybrid work environments.
In 2024 the chair was re-engineered for today’s working styles, including more comfortable and supportive foam densities and four degrees of forward tilt to accommodate fluid changes in posture. Its intuitive adjustments and holistic ergonomics deliver comfort without fuss, and an updated palette of colour and material options engages a contemporary vision. As of 2026 the Morrison Hannah Chair is available in Europe once more.
Bruce Hannah has made a career of mastering modern technology and materials to create efficient, practical products. “I’ve been on a personal crusade to create as much softness in the world as I can,” says the Pratt graduate and tenured professor. He believes in using as little material as possible and aims to round all the corners in the world.
A graduate of Pratt Institute, Andrew Morrison brought clarity and economy to everything he designed. His furniture was made with the most appropriate materials, efficiently produced, and designed to adapt as the patterns and technology of the modern office changed. This approach resulted in several award-winning collections for Knoll.
