With design
training in Venice and his famous architect-father, Carlo Scarpa,
Tobia Scarpa’s career grew steadily as a designer of lamps
and glass objects. Scarpa and his wife, Afra, later designed
geometric, three-dimensional collages of steel, wood and leather.
Scarpa was a member of the Gavina group, comprised of several
international designers who worked for Knoll. During this time
Scarpa designed the Bastiano collection, including table, arm chair
and lounge chair.
