Ettore Sottsass
studied architecture at the Politecnico di Torino and established a
studio in Milan in 1947. In 1982, he organized Sottsass
Associates—the group responsible for the Memphis Movement.
Associates Aldo Cibic, Marco Zanini and Matteo Thun worked with
Sottsass to develop a wide range of products for Clego Munari,
Fusital, Zanotta, Artemide, Swid Powell, Olivetti and Poltranova.
Sottsass has won numerous awards, including the Compasso
d'Oro.
