
In November both Knoll International and Knoll, Inc. reinforced sustainability to be a current and future objective to operate in the market. Knoll International and Knoll, Inc. already have in place synchronized environment management practices. Knoll International enforced an Environment Management Program in 2001, and the following year received the Environment Certification ISO 14001.
Overseas, Knoll, Inc. is already a member of the LEED
program (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and in
November it participated in the 2006 Clinton Global Initiative
Annual Meeting, becoming the first contract manufacture to join the
Chicago Climate Exchange.
With their respective initiatives both divisions are committing to
a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the main cause of global
warming, waste reduction and optimization of resources.
Both companies are also partners of GREENGUARD, the Forest Stewardship Council, committed to only sourcing timber from forests under controlled deforestation.
