The Platner Dining Table and Side Chair Collection designed by warren Platner in 1966 takes a cameo role in the finale of the latest Bond film Quantum of Solace.
Bond films have a history of using Knoll furniture. M’s apartment in Casino Royale famously used Barcelona® Chairs and Tables and the new Shelton Mindel table was also used on the sets of Quantum of Solace.
Knoll supplied 12 tables and 48 chairs to the film for use in final restaurant scene – and no they were not all blown up – A few Knoll dealers still have a few of the tables and chairs from the film set available to buy. The furniture pieces are supplied with a letter authenticating their use in the film.
